Connie Linrooth (Snead)

Connie Linrooth (Snead)

it's my sad task to announce the passing of another classmate.

i received this message from Kathie Trumbo Harper this morning;

Deceased Classmate: Connie Linrooth
Date Of Birth: oct-18-1946
Date Deceased: aug-6-2016
Age at Death: 69
Cause of Death: throat cancer
Classmate City: Alpine
Classmate State: CA
Classmate Country: USA
Was a Veteran: No
Survived By: husband, Jim Snead sons, Jeff, Casey and Troy Popp, sisters, Becky Pekovich and Beth Hammond, numerous grandchildren

Connie fought a hard battle for a year and then decided she had enough and entered hospice and died peacefullyshortly afterwards. Many responses were from people she had helped over the years. I don't think she would mind me saying she was a very active member of AA and was responsible for turning so many around and changing their lives for the good. We became best friends in 8th grade and rarely did you see one of us without the other through out our junior high and high school days. Even though we had not seen each other for quite some time, we remained friends. I miss her, knowing, we can't just pick up where we left off last and talk for hours.

Thank you, Kathy, for letting us know about Connie. I remember her as the sweetest, fun to be around girl. I'm sad for you to have lost such a special friend.

I remember Connie very well - she always had a smile! I am happy to hear that she touched many lives by sharing her experiences. She will be missed by many.

John and I are both sad to hear about Connie's death.  She was always smiling and friendly.  We have a another friend battling throat cancer so know what a battle it is!  Our prayers and sympathies to Connie's family!

My favorite memory of Connie is the two of us in charge of "spinning" 45's at a sock hop in someone's basement in Jr. High.  After 2-3 minutes the record was over, and a new one needed to be placed on that thick spindle on the record player for 45's.  Both Connie and I were supposedly all business, but we eyed hopefully the guys bunched up together along the wall.  I don't remember if either of us got a dance, but there was bonding in that Jr. High girl stuff.

"Early yesterday morning I had a thought of Connie pass through my mind.
I decided then that when I saw her, I would tell her how beautiful her smile is.
To hear this today saddens me but is peaceful at the same time.
I loved Connie. xxoo"
"Check out the picture of Connie and me at student council in our senior yearbook.
That's how I remember her. I can hear her laugh. xxoo "

So sorry to hear about Connie's death, but know she had a full life and is whole again. We met in the 8th grade and had so much fun together well into high school. She and her sister and my sister, Kathy were involved in Job's Daughters and I have lots of good memories of those times too. I think she helped instigate the dances we had at the ...she had a way of getting us all together.

I remember Connie so very well? We went to Broadwater together and were in Brownies and Girl Scouts together . Connie was always smiling, laughing and fun to be around. I am sad she passed away. God rest her sweet soul.

I have so many fond memories with Connie and her whole family.  It saddens me to hear of the struggles she went through in her last days.  She was such a loving, caring, person and although we lost contact in later years, thoughts of her scampered through my mind frequently. She is one so easily remembered and impossible to forget.

Sweet, sweet Connie. I am so sorry to hear she has left this world.  She was so fun to spend time with and her smile and contagious laugh  makes me smile, as I think of her . What a kind  loving soul who loved people. She will be missed. ❤️
