I know many of you knew Mark, so I thought it would be informative to give you a very brief history of Mark after high school.

Some of you may know this but I suspect most of you don't. Mark and I are first cousins. Marks mother and my mother are sisters.

Mark started his life in Bear Creek, MT., (where he is now buried) then moved to Billings at a young age. After high school he attended college for a short time then married Sheila Vitek. They moved to Seattle, WA. where Mark worked as a welder and raised twin boys Paul and Raymond. After his mother died in 1995 Mark and Sheila moved back to Billings.

Mark died unexpectedly of heart failure in 1999 at the early age of 52. I miss his big smile and infectious laugh. Mark left us too early and has been dearly missed.

Thanks Leroy.  When was he in the Army?

Mark was a dear friend during our elementary and junior high days at Garfield and at Billings Senior.   When we were in the fifth grade he would carry my cello on the back of his bike from school to my house for me. He was kind and very funny!  His laughter was infectious.  When we started going to Senior High, our parents would take turns driving us to school each week..... along with Roger Burkhardt and Dave Rodriguez, who had their own cars at the time! I have fond memories of Mark. So sorry we could not have grown old together as the special friends we were.

What beautiful tributes to Mark! I loved the last reunion he and his wife attended. Susan and I spent lots of time with them. Mark had donned a black on black look, so we fondly called him "Guido." We shared tons of laughs and had a wonderful rekindling. He was a big teddy bear.

I wasn't in alot of classes with Mark, none, but he had way of meeting people and becoming friends. I played intramural football with him our senior year. The winter of 66'  he put together a rec league basketball team with himself, Renzy, Bart Templeton, and myself. Bart played center on EMC's football team and was drafted twice by the 49'ers. Not much of a basketball player but he had a way of calming things down in a heated game. So did Mark recruit him or Renzy. It just goes to show you how personable he was.
