I knew Annie best in the last few years.  She was such a beautiful soul and courageous spirit plus she had good taste.  I love this photo taken of her at her son's wedding.  I saw a photo of Harry and Meagan on the news this morning and Meagan was wearing a hat just like Annie's!

many thanks to Tom Robinson for sending a link to Ann's obituary.

Ann Elizabeth Soulsby-Pawliw was born on Dec. 1, 1946, to loving parents Arthur and Helen Soulsby of Billings. Ann passed away on Feb. 24, 2023, following her battle with pancreatic cancer. She was preceded in death by her brother Arthur Soulsby; her parents, Arthur and Helen Soulsby; her sister-in-law, Adele (Reg) Pawliw-Houston; and Mary and Alex Pawliw. She will be remembered as a beloved Mom, Wife, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister and Friend to many.

She was married to Ernest Pawliw on Dec. 31, 1986, and, after residing in Saskatchewan, Canada for many years, they relocated to her hometown of Billings. She was known for her intellect, strength and wicked sense of humor. She loved the mountains and skiing, devoured books, was an avid golfer, and was happy spending hours in the kitchen honing her skills as a baker and chef. Annie delighted in hosting events for friends and family where she showcased these talents using her fine China, silver, and crystal on a table adorned with linens and handmade centerpieces. She cherished and doted on her fur babies Winston and Beatrice, whose affection and spirit brought her joy and peace.

Ann is survived by her husband, Ernest Pawliw; her son, Stuart (Mary) Steffanich; her daughter-in-law, Deb (Jamie) Bresciani; sons-in-law Brad (Diane) Pawliw, Rick (Diana Kerr) Pawliw; grandchildren Jacob (Keypher) Steffanich, Shay Steffanich, Cole Steffanich, Matthew (Olivia) Bresciani, Mitchell (Emily) and Archer Bresciani, Regan Pawliw and Spencer Pawliw.

Her fabulous felines Beatrice and Winston will greatly miss the comfort and security found in her lap, and she will be missed dearly by her closest friends Sandra, Abby, Heather, Karen, Sharon and Brandy, with whom she shared many laughs and made priceless memories.

Per her request, a family-only service will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations to RiverStone Hospice or the American Cancer Society may be made in her memory. Cards may be sent to Ernie Pawliw, 1501 Granite Peak Trail, Billings, MT 59106.
